NO. DO NOT mix Cerabien porcelain with EX-3 porcelain. The mixture of Cerabien and EX-3 will lead to fractures due to their different coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE).

Yes. Cerabien porcelain can be used to Vita In-Ceram system, such as In-Ceram Alumina and In-Ceram Spinel.

What are the important points for applying Cerabien porcelain on the In-Ceram framework?
Solution / Answer
It might cause the bubble problem on the surface if applying Cerabien porcelain directly on the In-Ceram framework. To avoid such a problem, please follow the below procedure.
1. Make an In-Ceram framework as the manual instructed.
2. Apply Cerabien Margin M Clear thinly on the framework (about 0.1mm thickness).
3. The baking schedule is different from the regular Margin porcelain baking schedule. Please see the below baking schedule.
* Dry-out time: 5 minutes
Low Temperature: 600°C; High Temperature: 1050°C
Hold Time: 2 minutes (the first minute with vacuum and the second minute without vacuum)
Heat Rate: 50°C/min.
Vacuum Level: 96kPa (72cmHg)
Make sure that the framework is wholly covered by Margin M Clear after the baking. If the surface is not covered well, apply M Clear and bake it again by repeating the above baking schedule.
4. Apply Cerabien Shade Base and bake it after the application of Margin M Clear. Follow the manual to finish the build-up.

Is it better to do the heat treatment to the PROCERA® framework before the application of Cerabien porcelain?

Yes. The heat treatment can remove the dirt on the framework and resist the framework discoloration while baking.
Please see the below heat treatment schedule. The whole baking should be given without vacuum.
* Dry-out time: 3 minutes
Hold Time: 1 minute
Low Temperature: 600°C; High Temperature: 1030°C
Heat Rate: 55°C/min.

Can Margin porcelain be baked after Shade Base porcelain?

No. DO NOT bake Margin porcelain after Shade Base porcelain because of their higher baking temperatures.

Extend the hold time at the high temperature 1030°C, usually prolong 1 minute to 2 minutes.

Does Cerabien porcelain look opaquey after baking?
Solution / Answer
The shade might become opaquey when Shade Base porcelain is applied more than necessary. To avoid opaquey, we recommend to applying and baking Shade Base porcelain for two times. Apply a thin layer to the surface in the first time. Two times' application and baking can obtain a proper thickness.

How to recreate Clear Cervical shade in EX-3 New Color by using Cerabien porcelain?

EX-3 New Color Clear Cervical shade can be obtained by mixing Cerabien shade. For example:
* CCV1: T0: Orange: Yellow = 92: 2: 6
CCV2: T0: Orange: Yellow = 80: 15: 5
CCV3: T0: Orange: Yellow = 65: 30: 5
CCV4: Impossible to recreate
