Problem / Question
The pressed ceramic has black spots.
Cause (1)
| Wax has not been burned enough. More than one investment have been heated at the same time. |
Solution / Answer (1)
Holding time at 850°C(1562°F) should be more than 45minutes for one-100 g ring and more than 60 minutes for one-200g. When more than one ring is used, add 15minutes for additional ring. For example, for 2-100g rings, holding time should be 45 min. + 15 min. = 60 minutes. For 2-200g rings, holding time should be 60 min. + 15 min = 75 minutes.
Cause (2)
The press ceramic has been heated with other items. Wax that cannot be burned completely has been used.
Solution / Answer (2)
| Do not burn rings with other items. (e.g. soldering models, casting rings etc. ) Always use the new wax that does not contain impure materials. |
