Problem / Question |
What is the purpose of Paste Opaque Base Paste BA? |
Solution / Answer |
When using semi-precious alloys containing 75-80% palladium or Ni-Cr alloys without Beryllium, use Base Paste (POBA) for the application to prevent greening of the porcelain caused by the copper or Beryllium contained in these alloys. After POBA is applied, 70% of the metal coping's color should be hidden. Do not mix Base Paste with Paste Opaques. Then bake, referring to the Baking Program. As the second layer of Paste Opaque, apply the desired shade of Paste Opaque to cover the alloy completely. Bake again. |

Follow the recommended baking program exactly. In addition, if you use a furnace whose drying position is close to muffle, the dry-out temperature may be too high, and liquid of the paste might be boiled before the dry-out. Try lowering the dry-out temperature to 400°C. |
